More than 30 local law enforcement officers are participating in Special Olympics Hawaii's 9th annual Cop on Top fund-raiser.

Off-duty officers volunteer to remain on 14-foot scaffolding set up at Safeway stores statewide from today until Saturday afternoon.

The officers will eat and sleep in their perches while collecting money and helping to raise awareness of Special Olympics.

Last year's efforts raised $210,000.
