Big waves, cool breezes in forecast

Advertiser Staff

Big waves and cool breezes are in today’s Island forecast.

A high-surf advisory remains in effect for north- and west-facing shores on Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Molokai and Maui as a northwest swell continues to drive 10- to 15-foot surf.
It will be a mostly sunny day, with scattered light showers over windward areas.
Highs will be 72 to 77 degrees, with northeast winds at 15 to 20 mph.
“A high to the northwest will produce breezy trade winds through tonight,” the National Weather Service’s Honolulu forecast office says in its area synopsis.
“Nights and mornings will be rather cloudy, but rainfall will be minimal. Temperatures will be just a little cooler than normal but the winds and low humidity may make it feel colder.”
