Men threaten 3 residents, leave with camera bag

Hawai'i County police were investigating an armed robbery of a home in Hawaiian Ocean View Estates.

Officers were called to a home in the subdivision shortly after 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The victims — a 52-year-old man, a 20-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman — reported that three men had confronted them outside their home, threatened them with a knife and demanded marijuana.

The residents told police they ran away and that the suspects entered the house, removed a camera bag and fled.

Police ask that anyone with information about this case call the police nonemergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 329-8181 in Kona or 961-8300 in Hilo. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
