AMAZING GRACE

New Zealand's Black Grace Dance Company returns to Honolulu this weekend for a one-night only performance at Leeward Community College Theatre. The all-male dance troupe blends strength and grace, choreography and culture, to create performances that embody both impeccable dance technique as well as Polynesian cultural influences. Drawing from choreographer Neil Ieremia's New Zealand Sämoan background, the troupe is equal parts traditional dance and modern innovation. Warning: Black Grace has been known to make its audiences lose control. In a good way.

SOUNDS LIKE BRAZIL

The first ever Brazilian Music Festival is scheduled to go off at 6 p.m. tomorrow at the Hale'iwa Community Center (66-434 Kamehameha Highway, free). Hosted by The Brazilian Cultural Center of Hawaii, the fest will include reggae, blues and rock.

PUNAHOU, AKA FUNKYTOWN

This year's Punahou Carnival is titled "That '70s Carnival — We Got The Funk" (Punahou campus, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. today and tomorrow). And they got the goods: rides, food and, always, malassadas.
