It's Mardi Gras time, and that means party time here in Honolulu. Here's a list of a few of the big ones happening on Fat Tuesday

TAPPY'S STILL GOT IT

'Ukulele virtuoso Bill "Tappy" Tapia will be headlining the second annual 'Ukulele Picnic in Hawai'i (free), along with uke players from Hawai'i and Japan. The strum-along fest happens from noon until sunset tomorrow at Kaka'ako Waterfront Park.

IT'S ABOUT LOVE, ACTUALLY

Garry Marshall's much-anticipated and star-packed (including Julia Roberts, Jamie Foxx and Jessica Alba) rom-com "Valentine's Day" opens today in theaters. The movie is all about — you guessed it — love, with a number of intertwining stories that take place over the course of one Valentine's Day.

C&K FOR HAITI

Cecilio & Kapono are headlining "Island to Island," a concert to benefit the Red Cross Haiti relief fund (5-8 p.m. today on Hilton Hawaiian Village's Great Lawn, $20, 2005 Kalia Road, 949-4321).

ONE-MAN SHOW

Cabaret performer Matt Yee (he's been described as Elton John meets Margaret Cho) will be performing and hosting a cabaret sing-along at 8:30 tonight at Hula's Bar & Lei Stand (free, 134 Kapahulu Ave., 375-8440).

SOUNDS OF SUMMER

We'll have fun, fun, fun when The Beach Boys come to town.

IF PIANOS COULD TALK
