City property taxes for 2009-2010 due

Advertiser Staff

Payments for the second installment of Honolulu real property taxes for the 2009-2010 tax year are due today, the city Department of Budget and Fiscal Services said.

Payment can be made in person at the Real Property Tax Collection Section located on the diamondhead side of the first floor of Honolulu Hale, 530 S. King St.

There is also a black and gray curbside drop box located just outside Honolulu Hale.

Property owners can also pay at any satellite city hall location, although the Hawai'i Kai and Windward locations are closed Mondays.

Additionally, payments can be done electronically with a MasterCard or VISA, or an electronic check at www.hnlpay.com or by phone at 877-309-9117. A convenience fee will be charged for online payments.

Property owners who have not received a bill are advised to check immediately by calling 768-3980, or by visiting www.honolulupropertytax.com, or going in person to the Real Property Collection Section, Division of Treasury, first floor of Honolulu Hale, 530 S. King St., Room 115.

Failure to receive a tax bill does not exempt a property owner from paying a late penalty of up to 10 percent plus interest if the payment is tardy.
