In response to the popularity of “Hokusai’s Summit: Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji,” the exhibit’s run at the Honolulu Academy of Arts will be extended by three days.

So, visitors lingering over the woodblock prints this weekend may return midweek to take advantage of the museum’s monthly free first Wednesday — the show’s last day.
The design of the exhibition, which opened Sept. 24, integrates interactive components into the gallery. Elements include: a desk where visitors may write haiku, and printing stations for making your own woodblock prints.
The museum, at 900 S. Beretania St., is open 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays. Admission: $10 general; $5 age 62 and older, students age 12 and older and military with ID; free for Honolulu Academy of Arts members, children 12 and under accompanied by an adult and Hawaiçi-based teachers. Out-of-state teachers may enter for a discounted rate of $5. (Must show school ID or union card at front desk.) For information, call 535-8700 or visit www.honoluluacademy.org.
