AAUW offers scholarship opportunity

The Diamond Head/Koko Head branch of the American Association of University Women invites women at the University of Hawai'i-Mänoa and Kapi'olani Community College to apply for a $500 scholarship. All entries must be residents of Hawai'i and enrolled in undergraduate studies. The deadline to apply is next Sunday. KALIHI-PÄLAMA LIBRARY CUTTING HOURS
Kalihi-Pälama Public Library will change its public service schedule effective tomorrow due to a staffing shortage. The library's new hours: Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 to 8 p.m., Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Call 832-3466 for more information.

EWA BY GENTRY HOLDS HOLIDAY FOOD DRIVE
The Neighborhood Security Watch Team of Terrazza/Corte Bella/Tiburon/Las Brisas of Ewa By Gentry held its second Holiday Food Drive in December to benefit the Hawaii Foodbank. A total of 1,207 pounds of food and $1,084.20 in cash was collected.

COMMUNITY GRANTS AVAILABLE FOR 2010
The Kahuku Community Fund of the Hawai'i Community Foundation is now accepting grant proposals from nonprofit organizations. Preference will be given to projects that address a community need and benefit the Kahuku community. Deadline for submissions is Feb. 19. The Request for Proposal Guidelines can be downloaded from Hawai'i Community Foundation's Web site at www.hawaiicommunityfoundation.org or by contacting the O'ahu office at 537-6333.

NOVELIST BERNHARDT WILL SPEAK AT LIBRARY
