Aquarium talk probes microscopic realm

The Waikiki Aquarium this month is offering an educational program about the microscopic realm of plankton.
J. Rudi Strickler Shaw, a distinguished professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, will speak about the development of optical instrumentation used to study the ocean at millimeter and millisecond scales. The program set to get under way at 6 p.m. Jan. 14.
Strickler has been featured in film, television, and written publications highlighting the observations planktonic copepods. The program is free and open to the public. To RSVP please call 440-9020 or send e-mail
