Hanabusa to open campaign headquarters on Ward Avenue

Advertiser Staff

State Senate President Colleen Hanabusa, who is seeking the congressional seat that will be vacated by Neil Abercrombie next month, today announced plans to open her campaign headquarters Saturday.

Hanabusa said the facility at 250 Ward Avenue would open at 10 a.m. She said U.S. Sens. Daniel K. Inouye and Daniel Akaka would attend.
Abercrombie is stepping down Feb. 28 to campaign fulltime for governor. His two-year term expires in January 2011.
Former U.S. Rep. Ed Case and city councilman Charles Djou have also announced plans to seek Abercrombie’s seat.
Scott Nago, interim chief elections officer, said yesterday he would try to hold a special election on May 1.
