"Twilight" ruled last night at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, where the People's Choice Awards honored stars from movies, television and music.

Mariah Carey, fresh from the Palm Springs Film Festival on Tuesday, attended with a host of other stars, such as Sandra Bullock, Steve Carell, Ellen DeGeneres, Alyson Hannigan, Diane Kruger, Hugh Jackman, Carrie Underwood, Mary J. Blige and Greg Grunberg.

"The Twilight Saga: New Moon" was the big winner of the night, taking home four awards for favorite movie, franchise, on-screen team and male breakout actor, Taylor Lautner. The series' second installment, "New Moon," was released in November.

Carey accepted her award for favorite R&B artist after being accompanied onstage by husband Nick Cannon because she could barely walk in her long gown, which she described as "drama." Her speech was much more composed than the one she made at Palm Springs, which Internet blogs posted yesterday because of her loopy behavior.

HANES DROPS ADS WITH CHARLIE SHEEN

Hanesbrands is ending its advertising campaign featuring Charlie Sheen because of domestic violence charges filed against the actor.

Company spokesman Matt Hall said yesterday that it was a "pretty standard, straightforward call" by the brand marketing team given the nature of the allegations.

Hall said Sheen wouldn't have been retained when his contract expired in the middle of the year. He said Hanesbrands was approaching the second anniversary of Sheen's first appearance as its pitchman.

The "Two and a Half Men" star was arrested in Aspen, Colo., on Christmas Day on charges including felony menacing and domestic violence. His wife, Brooke Sheen, told police he put a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her. Sheen denies threatening her.

CAGE OWES $128K IN TAXES ON R.I. DIGS

Actor Nicolas Cage owes roughly $128,000 in unpaid taxes on a mansion in Rhode Island.

The actor sued his former business manager in October for $20 million, claiming the man's advice led him toward financial ruin. Records show Cage owes millions of dollars in unpaid taxes to the IRS, and the actor says he's had to sell assets. Cage's ex-business manager has countersued, saying Cage's spending is to blame.

SWIFT OUTSELLS BOYLE — BUT BARELY

Susan Boyle put up a strong challenge, but Taylor Swift ended 2009 with the year's best-selling album.

Nielsen SoundScan, which tracks the nation's album sales, says Swift's "Fearless" sold 3.2 million copies last year. It was released in late 2008. Boyle's "I Dreamed a Dream" sold 3.1 million copies — and it only came out in late November.
