DENVER — Three people who have never experienced snow before are about to get their chance, including a Kailua resident.
The Colorado Tourism Office on Friday announced the winners of its “Snow at First Sight” contest, which offered an expenses-paid, three-month trip to Colorado from January through March for people who said they had yet to have a real snow day.
The winners are 25-year-old Ruchu Adhikary of Melbourne, Australia, 21-year-old Trevor Allison of Atlanta, and 30-year-old Deena Bright, of Kailua, Oahu.
With the help of local guides, they will sample winter activities like snowmobiling, skiing, snowshoeing and dogsledding and visit Colorado restaurants, hot springs and spas.
The winners will be sharing their experiences through online social media.
