APEC economic conference dates set for Nov. 12-13, 2011
The White House has announced the dates of next year's Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation conference in Hawai'i.
Yesterday's announcement said President Obama will meet with Asia-Pacific leaders Nov. 12-13, 2011.
The announcement said Obama is looking forward to welcoming his fellow APEC economy leaders to the state where he was born.
Obama chose Hawai'i to host the 21-member conference. The event will be held at the Hawai'i Convention Center.
The White House said the United States will use the opportunity of chairing APEC to highlight the potential the Asia-Pacific region holds for American companies and workers. APEC's core mission of spurring mutually beneficial regional economic integration will also be promoted.
