About 200 volunteers combed through Chinatown searching out graffiti to paint out and trash to pick up this morning.

They spent about two hours volunteering for the Honolulu Police Department's Project C.L.E.A.N., a Community Lokahi to Enrich our Aina Now, project initiated by Honolulu's Chief Louis Kealoha to clean up neighborhoods and to reduce crime. They cleaned up from Aala Park to Fort Street Mal to Nimitz Highway and Beretania Street.

"It's about bringing together everyone to keep the community clean and safe," said HPD Chief Randy Macadangdang.
