Rainbow Wahine softball game vs. Arizona underway

Advertiser Staff

The University of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine softball team, trying to stay in contention, failed to score in the top of the first inning against Arizona in an elimination game of the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City, Okla.

UH was sent to the elimination game after falling 5-2 to UCLA Friday.

Arizona, which lost to Tennessee in the opener, came back to eliminate defending NCAA champion Washington, 4-3.

Earlier, Georgia eliminate Florida, 3-2, and will play unbeaten UCLA Sunday. If UCLA wins, the Bruins will be in the best-of-three championship series, starting Monday.

Georgia, which beat Washington in the opening round but lost to Tennessee Friday, will need to beat UCLA twice to advance to the championship.
