Opening night isn’t until Thursday, but strong ticket sales have prompted Manoa Valley Theatre to add five more performances of the hit Tony Award-winning musical “Hair” and extend it through March 28.

It was originally scheduled to end March 21.
“Hair,” which brought hits like “Age of Aquarius,” “Let the Sun Shine In,” “Be-In (Hare Krishna) and more, tells the story of a group of young Americans searching for love and peace during the Vietnam era.
Show times are 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays, 3 p.m and 8 p.m. Saturdays, 4 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $35. Seniors and military are admitted for $30; patrons 25 years old and under for $20. Call 988-6131 or purchase tickets online at manoavalleytheatre.com. Tickets are also available at all military ticket outlets. Thursday’s opening performance is sold out.
A special “Twitter Night,” sponsored by Oceanic Time Warner Cable’s Road Runner, is slated for 8 p.m. March 20, where MVT will lift its ban on electronic devices and allow audience members to actively tweet, post and blog during the performance.
