Advertiser Staff

A 65-year-old man who is a visitor to Hawaii reported being robbed last night on a sidewalk in Waikiki.

The tourist told police he was walking with his wife about 9:20 p.m. when he was pushed from behind by a stranger who stole his “fanny pack.”
Police said the visitor chased the man for several blocks and that patrol officers who saw what was happening joined in the pursuit.
The officers caught up with the man, a 20-year-old Pawaa resident, on Kaiulani Avenue and arrested him on suspicion of second-degree robbery.
