Car-theft suspect comes to crashing halt in Mililani

Advertiser Staff

Police last night arrested a 39-year-old man after he crashed a car that had been reported stolen into two parked cars in Mililani.

Officers reported seeing the man driving a car belonging to a 55-year-old woman who had reported the vehicle being stolen in Aiea on Sunday.
Police said the driver was ordered to pull over but fled instead before running into two parked cars near the intersection of Kamehameha Highway and Kuahelani Avenue about 10:25 p.m.
The driver got out and ran, but was apprehended nearby, police said.
The suspect was taken to Wahiawa General Hospital where he was treated for injuries resulting from the crash.
He was arrested on suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, resisting an order to stop and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle collision.
