Mililani Mauka residents urged to conserve water

Advertiser Staff

Mililani Mauka residents are being asked to conserve water because of an electrical problem at a Honolulu Board of Water Supply pumping station.

The BWS said water should be used for cooking, drinking and personal hygiene until further notice. Residents should refrain from doing laundry, watering lawns or washing cars.
Officials said the BWS and Hawaiian Electric Co. are working to address an electrical issue at the pumping station. A portable booster pump is being used to provide water to the area’s reservoirs so customers can continue to have water service.
But the BWS said this pump is unable to provide enough water to meet normal demand, so residents are being asked to conserve water. It was not known when the repairs would be completed.
