Aloha Aina recycling events March 13, 20

Aloha çAina Earth Day recycling collections will be conducted March 13 at Kahuku High & Intermediate School and March 20 at Farrington High School. Each event will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Acceptable items include scrap metal, auto parts, bicycles, appliances, lawn mower, pipes, beams, newspaper, cardboard, telephone books, magazines, HI-5˘ beverage containers, plastic bags and hangers, green waste, batteries, cellular phone, printer cartridges, one computer per car, cooking oil, eyeglasses, hearing aids, reusable household items and clothing.
Items not accepted include tires, TVs, microwave ovens, motor oil, paint, hazardous fluids and gas tanks.
For free curbside pickup, car removal or bin for scrap metal, call Rene Mansho at 306-1876.
U.S. Census workers will be available to take applications for the 2010 census.
