Man arrested on suspicion of shooting wife in head

Advertiser Staff

Police arrested a 54-year-old Wai'anae man after he allegedly shot his wife in the head while arguing with her at the couple's home.

The woman, 53, told police she was able to flee to the home of a family member, where she called police.

A 20-year-old woman who was at the home where the alleged shooting occurred Wednesday told police the man also threatened her while holding a rifle, but that she was able to leave the home safely with her two children.

The older woman was taken to a nearby hospital where she was treated for a gunshot wound and released.

Police went to the home where they arrested the husband on suspicion of attempted second-degree murder, second-degree assault, first-degree terroristic threatening and misdemeanor abuse of a family or household member.
