Country star Darryl Worley to headline BayFest

Advertiser Staff

The 21st annual BayFest will be headlined by country star Darryl Worley and take place Sept. 25-26 at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Kaneohe Bay, Marine officials announced today.

Also featured this year will be a Kaneohe Bay Airshow.

Worley, with hits like "Sounds Like Life to Me" and "Best of Both Worlds," will headline the Saturday entertainment with support from Mike Corrado and the Kings of Spade. Sunday's lineup will be filled with local entertainers — Natural Vibrations, BET and Willie K. The Marine Forces Pacific Band will also be showcased both nights.

Other festivities include a BayFest BodySearch Competition on Sept. 26 where contestants are judged on physique, personality and interviewing skills as they vie for prize packages and the title of Mr. and Ms. BayFest.

Children rides, games food booths and fireworks are all part of the festival, and this year a "Taste of Oahu."

Gates open at 9 a.m. both days of the Kaneohe Bay Airshow, enabling attendees the leisure of all-day access to MCB Hawaii. The addition of the BayFest evening concerts will also help lessen the rush of traffic exiting the airshow. The Kaneohe Bay Airshow and BayFest entertainment are free to the public. Premium seating will be available for purchase beginning May 10. More event details are available at www.kaneohebayairshow.com.
