Hanabusa campaign raised $364,200 in April

State Senate President Colleen Hanabusa raised more than $364,000 in April in her bid for the 1st Congressional District seat, her campaign reported Tuesday.

From April 1 to May 2, Hanabusa's campaign said it raised $364,200, spent $505,687 and had $187,261 cash on hand. Hanabusa is one of 14 candidates running in the special election to fill the seat vacated by Neil Abercrombie, who resigned to run for governor.

The Hanabusa campaign on Monday had provided The Advertiser with incomplete figures for a story that appeared in Tuesday morning's print edtion.

City Councilman Charles Djou raised the most money in April, according to federal campaign finance reports. The Republican raised $525,150 and had $362,700 in cash remaining.

Former Congressman Ed Case reported raising $287,400 in April and had $153,500 in cash left.

The results of the election will be announced on May 22.
