Oahu man guilty in teen sex assault

A jury yesterday convicted a Nānākuli man of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy who worked for him.

Henry Moisa, 58, was found guilty of three counts of first-degree sexual assault of a teenage boy in 2007 and 2008.

A Circuit Court jury deliberated a day and a half before finding Moisa guilty of three of the five criminal counts against him.

Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Adrian Dhakwha said Moisa, operator of a portable toilet business, faces a mandatory 20-year jail sentence.

Moisa paid the victim, an employee, $5 each time the youth allowed Moisa to perform oral sex, Dhakwha said.

That was more than the $1.25 the boy was paid each time he cleaned a portable toilet, the prosecutor said.

The assaults allegedly occurred at Moisa's house, at Bellows Field Beach Park and at Mokulē'ia, the prosecutor said.

Circuit Judge Glenn Kim will sentence Moisa in July.

Moisa originally was tried last year but a mistrial was declared before the case went to the jury.
