Hawaii players named to all-region softball teams

University of Hawai'i third baseman Melissa Gonzalez, designated player Jenna Rodriguez and center fielder Kelly Majam were named today to the Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division I All-West Region first team.
New Mexico State first baseman Hoku Nohara, a Kamehameha alum, also was named to the first team.
UH pitcher Stephanie Ricketts and shortstop Jessica Iwata were named to the second team.
East Carolina outfielder Marina Gusman-Brown, a Pearl City alum, was named the Mideast Region first team.
Ricketts' sister Keilani Ricketts, a pitcher for Oklahoma, was named to the Central Region first team.
A total of 256 players from 116 schools were named to 10 regional first or second teams.
The NFCA Division I All-American teams will be announced on June 2.
