Comedian Drew Carey plans to visit his hometown of Cleveland to discuss with City Council members his ideas to help revitalize the city.

"The Price is Right" host is expected to meet with council members Thursday after accepting an invitation from Martin Sweeney, the council's president.

Last month, Carey argued for less government, more competition, less taxes and changes to schools in 10-minute segments about Cleveland on the website reason.tv. The site is affiliated with the Reason Foundation, a libertarian-leaning organization for which Carey is a board member.

In inviting Carey, Sweeney wrote "Clevelanders sometimes bristle at criticism from outsiders, but you are one of us ... as one of our Favorite Sons, your thoughts and ideas are most welcome."

BURTON HEADING UP CANNES JURY

Tim Burton and a jury of his peers in the world of cinema have a tough task ahead: sorting through 19 entries competing for top honors at the Cannes Film Festival.

Burton heads the nine-member jury that was busy yesterday watching the last of the films competing for the Palme d'Or, the main prize at the world's most prestigious cinema showcase. The 12-day festival ends tonight with a ceremony to announce winners selected by director Burton and his jury — which includes actors Kate Beckinsale, Benicio Del Toro and Giovanna Mezzogiorno, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur and composer Alexandre Desplat.

Among the handful of films that earned largely favorable reviews are the British ensemble drama "Another Year" from director Mike Leigh, a past Palme d'Or winner for "Secrets and Lies," and French filmmaker Xavier Beauvois' "Of Gods and Men," a tale of martyrdom based on the true story of seven monks beheaded during Algeria's civil war in 1996.

MAN CLEARED OF KILLING RAPPER DOLLA

A jury acquitted a man Friday of killing up-and-coming Atlanta rapper Dolla during a shooting last year at a crowded, upscale Los Angeles mall.

Jurors rejected prosecutors' contentions that the killing of Dolla, whose real name was Roderick Anthony Burton II, was a callous act of apparent revenge.

Burton and his accused shooter, Aubrey Louis Berry, had been involved in a fight at an Atlanta club less than two weeks before the shooting last May. Berry's attorney had contended the shooting was an act of self-defense

COMPOSER'S CONDO BEING SOLD FOR $19M

A 5,000-square-foot condo in New York owned by British composer Andrew Lloyd Webber is on the market for a third time with a price tag of $19 million.

The duplex is on the 59th and 60th floors of Trump Tower, overlooking Central Park. The Lloyd Webber family bought the unit in 1987 for $5.5 million. It was listed in 2000 for $15 million and in 2007 for $22.5 million.
