'Lost' cast and friends to dine for Le Jardin
John Memering, executive chef of Kalapawai Café, is going to be a busy man Sunday cooking for members of the "Lost" cast and friends.
Recently at a benefit event, he donated a dinner for four to benefit Le Jardin Academy, where his daughter to go to school.
A bidding war started up and instead of the dinner for four he planned, he's doing a dinner for a dozen.
The winning bidder, at a real deal $800 was Margherita Ronchi, wife of "Lost Star" Matthew Fox ("Dr. Jack Shephard"). Since a number of the "Lost" cast members' children go to Le Jardin, the dinner turned into a sort of past-last-show reunion and the Foxes asked if they could increase the numbers. Host of the event is Nestor Carbonelle ("Richard Alpert").
The menu for this "Farm to Table" dinner: crab and cucumber soup, day boat catch lettuce wraps, Big Island mushroom truffled risotto, coconut sorbet with guava truffle foam and a goat cheese macadamia nut tart.
