Sandy Beach ruling should not be fought
For more than a decade now, Honolulu's residents have enjoyed the vistas near Sandy Beach that a zoning change has helped preserve. Those protections will go on in perpetuity. That should be worth something.

Cayetano scholarships need thorough debate
We suggest Gov. Cayetano consider using whatever money is found for UH scholarships to augment existing financial aid programs instead of tapping the Hurricane Relief Fund. A very fair and viable system now exists for aiding college students, both with grants and loans, on the basis of both merit and need.
