Fun House
Dad's cold becomes cause for celebration

By Anne Gunther
Special to The Advertiser

My husband was in bed with a sore throat and laryngitis, so I didn’t want my 3-year-old son Greg bothering him. But Greg couldn’t understand why he wasn’t allowed to see or talk to his daddy. He knocked on the bedroom door and said, "Daddy, why can’t you talk?"

My husband called out through the door, "Because I’ve got a little hoarse."

Greg walked away, so we thought we had taken care of the problem. But Greg soon returned to the door, this time wearing his little play cowboy boots.

He was waiting to see his dad’s "horse."
