Memorial fund created for families

Advertiser Staff

A memorial fund has been established for the families of the six Army soldiers who were killed when their helicopter crashed Monday night in Kahuku.

Checks should be made out to Soldier’s Relief Fund and mailed to Soldier’s Relief Fund, c/o First Hawaiian Bank, P.O. Box 861598, Wahiawa, HI 96786. Donations may also be dropped off at any First Hawaiian Bank branch.

If donors wish to specify a soldier or family, that soldier’s name should be written in the memo portion of the check.

Dennis Francis, general manager of The Honolulu Advertiser, yesterday said the newspaper’s community foundation will donate $10,000 to the fund.
