Woman charged in Pauoa swindle

Police have charged a 31-year-old woman in connection with a theft and credit card scam that victimized elderly homeowners.

Pisa Marvell Tuvale turned herself in to police on Friday. Her bail was set at $100,000.

Police accused Tuvale of posing as a gas company employee investigating a gas line leak in the Pauoa neighborhood. The impostor swept through an elderly woman’s home and charged $600 for a phony problem, police said. The elderly woman reported her credit cards stolen and used just after the incident, police said.

Tuvale is a suspect in a similar theft against an elderly man in last December.

Pearl City woman assaulted at home

Police were searching for a burglar who broke into a Pearl City home yesterday afternoon and sexually assaulted a 26-year-old woman at knife-point.

Shortly before 12:45 p.m., the woman arrived home and was confronted by the intruder who brandished a knife. He sexually assaulted her and fled.

Motorist wounded in Makaha shooting

Police yesterday were searching for a gunman and three other people involved in a shooting in Makaha at about 3 a.m. Sunday in front of 84-975 Hanalei St.

A 22-year-old man and his two passengers reported being followed by another car, possibly a grey or tan four-door Dodge Stratus sedan, police said.

The man walked over to the suspect’s car and was shot in the right arm, police said.
