LEONARDO B. "LARRY" ALEJADO SR., 76, of Wai
anae, died Feb. 14, 2001. Born in Makaweli, Kauai. A retired Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard Shop 31 employee. Survived by sons, Lawrence Leonardo Jr. and Warren; daughters, Raynette Castrogiavanni and Lorraine Sibonga; brothers, Robert, Ben, Thomas, and Francisco Alejado and Danny Lagmay; sisters, Cresencia Mau, Leonora Villatora, Frances La Madrid and Georgia Blom; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation 6 p.m. Friday at Mililani Memorial Park & Mortuary Mauka Chapel; service 7 p.m. Burial 10:30 a.m. Feb. 27 at Mililani Memorial Park. Casual attire.

A service for Hawaiian entertainer and kumu hula SAMUEL "SAM" KEAWE BERNARD JR., 46, of Honolulu, will be held Saturday at Kaumakapili Church. Bernard, a member of the Hawaiian Isles Serenaders and a longtime Hawaiian consultant for Tihati Productions, died Feb. 15, 2001. Bernard was also a state Department of Human Services social worker, and kumu hula of hula halau Kaululaka. Bernard was manager of the Tihati-produced luau shows Mondays at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, and was showcased in Tihati’s "Creation" production at the Ainahau Showroom at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel. He is survived by a daughter, Temehani; father, Samuel Sr.; brother, Alvin "Kala" and Valentin; sisters, Mary, Valerie and Robin White. Visitation 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Kaumakapili Church; service 5 to 6 p.m. Aloha attire. Arrangements by Mililani Downtown Mortuary.

MARGARET CLARISSA DENNISON, 92, of Honolulu, died Feb. 12, 2001. Born in Massachusetts. Retired hotel industry secretary. Memorial service pending. Arrangements by Williams Funeral Services.

PAUL TAICHI FUJITA, 88, of Wailuku, Maui, died Feb. 17, 2001. Born in Honolulu. A retired carpenter. Survived by wife, Momoe "Marian"; sister, Blanche Kosaka; caregiver and niece, Ruth Jones. Visitation 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church; service 9:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Maui Memorial Park. MARY GANDALL HALEMANO, 78, of Waianae, died Feb. 10, 2001. Born in Kona, Hawaii. Member of Kamakuamauloa Church. ADAM "RAWLEY" KENICHI HARAGUCHI, 78, of Mililani, died Feb. 13, 2001. Born in Puna, Hawaii. A retired University of Hawaii Maintenance Department painter. THELMA KOTOKO KANESHIRO, 81, of Honolulu, died Feb. 17, 2001. Born in Pepeekeo, Hawaii. A retired Waialae Country Club waitress. Survived by husband, Harold "Toshi"; daughters, Alma Morikawa, Mildred Nagatori and Frances Yamamoto; brother, Takeo Nakachi; sisters, Lillian Teruya, Nancy Evans, Ella Kaneda and Betty Takamine; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. MOTO ONUMA, 86, of Hilo, Hawaii, died Feb. 14, 2001. Born in Paukaa Mauka, Hawaii. Retired waitress for Hilo and Sheraton Waiakea Village hotels. Survived by sons, Norman, Tamotsu and Masayoshi; daughters, Chiyoko Takenaka, Lillian Kawabata, Edith Nishino, Patsy Nakamura and Gail Inoue; 26 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren. LAVERLA "VERLA" R. PESQUIRA, 52, of Las Vegas, died Feb. 4, 2001. Born in Honolulu.
