Book Review
Rothe makes improvements sound do-able

100 STEPS TO BETTER HEALTH’ by Claude R. Rothe, Vantage Press, paper, $11.95.

By Beverly Creamer
Advertiser Staff Writer

In this self-published paperback, Honolulu writer Claude Rothe takes a purist’s approach to diet and life change, but for each life change he suggests, he offers a rationale backed up by research.

At first, the book seems to suggest a rather fanatical approach to getting well, with advice verging on not just the improbable but the impossible.

But taken as a whole, the book builds an argument that may convince the reader to follow Rothe’s suggestions, or some of them, at least. While they sound off-the-chart in the beginning, by the end, they begin to feel do-able. Except possibly giving up coffee.
