Waipahu cancels classes

Advertiser Staff

A water main break on campus forced the closure of Waipahu High School today, but the school is expected to open tomorrow.

The Department of Education’s Leeward District Office told school officials at about 8 a.m. to cancel classes today, said Warren Harada, the school’s business manager.

The water main ruptured in the main driveway near the administration office and affected the restrooms and cafeteria. Officials closed the school for health reasons and repairs were expected to take up to one day, Harada said.
