Seth Feldman hired as KHNL news director

By Wayne Harada
Advertiser Entertainment Editor

Seth Feldman, a news consultant and director from the NBC affiliate in Aruba, has joined KHNL-8, the local NBC affiliate, as news director.

During his tenure at the Aruba Broadcasting Company/ATV, he developed and managed the Island’s first English-language newscast and is credited with "Americanizing" the daily newscasts, which previously only broadcast in Aruba’s native language, Papiamento.

"We are extremely excited to have someone of Seth’s caliber coming to Hawaii," said John Fink, News8 vice president and general manager. "We look forward to his energy, creativity and enthusiasm in helping News8 continue to break through the clutter and sameness in local TV news."

Prior to his stint in Aruba, Feldman was executive producer at WMC-TV, an NBC station in Memphis, where he oversaw nine producers and six daily newscasts. He won an Emmy for "Countdown on Beale," a New Year’s Eve special from Memphis’ famous Beale Street, syndicated throughout the southeastern United States.
