C. Brewer and Co. Ltd. said yesterday that Robert J. Ehrhart will become president of Hawaii’s Own Corp. beginning Monday. Ehrhart, national sales manager for Sumner, Wash.-based Hawaii’s Own, will report to J.W.A. Buyers, chairman of both C. Brewer and subsidiary Hawaii’s Own.

Hawaii’s Own markets guava-based juices as part of C. Brewer’s world-leading production of the juice. The puree is produced at C. Brewer’s orchards on Kauai.

Ehrhart has been in sales management for Hawaii’s Own for nine years. Previously, he served with Fleming Foods and Food Services of America.

Stockholders OK Schuler merger

Hawaii-based homebuilder Schuler Homes Inc. announced yesterday that stockholders voted overwhelmingly to approve the previously announced merger with California homebuilder Western Pacific Housing. More than 99 percent of the 90 percent of shares voted approved the merger, expected to close during April.

The combined company, which will retain the Schuler name, will enter its next fiscal year as one of the top 15 homebuilders in the nation, one of the largest homebuilders in California and among the top three homebuilders in Colorado, Washington, Oregon and Hawaii. The company also has a growing presence in Arizona.
