Lt. Gregory Poole, who headed the investigation into the death of Mitchell Udani, said today he plans to submit the findings to Honolulu Prosecuting Attorney Peter Carlisle’s office sometime next week. Prosecutors will determine whether the shooting was justified.

Four of five police officers responding to the scene returned fire against Udani, who was armed with a shotgun. Udani had fatally wounded his girlfriend, 25-year-old Cherry Ann Cachola Domingo. The case was investigated as a double homicide due to the police action.
