MUST-SEE: "The Lost Empire" conclusion, 7 p.m., NBC: In Sundays witty opener of this miniseries, an American scholar (Thomas Gibson) found himself swept into an opposite world. Wooed by a beautiful goddess, he joined the Monkey King, facing demons who would erase a great book - and history. Tonights finale includes a contemporary twist: The battle gets held up by courtroom maneuvers.
"Columbo: Murder with Too Many Notes," 7 p.m., ABC: Having a great character isnt exactly the same as having a good mystery movie. Peter Falk (as the rumpled cop) and Billy Connolly (as an egocentric composer) are terrific here. The story itself, however, is merely so-so.
"Blade Runner," 8:30 p.m., Sci Fi Channel (1982): Almost two decades before scoring with "Gladiator" and "Hannibal," director Ridley Scott triumphed here, with Harrison Ford as a futuristic detective. On a small screen, this is a terrific movie; on a big one, it is awesome.
"Some of My Best Friends," 8:30 p.m., CBS: The two roommates, one gay and one straight, decide they make a dream date.
