Officers named for Hilo Hattie
Paul de Ville, former president and chief executive officer of Persis Corp. and ASA Properties Inc., has been named chief executive officer of Hilo Hatties parent company, Pomare Ltd.
Darrell Metzger, who was president and CEO of Atlantis Adventures, joins Hilo Hattie as president and chief operating officer.
Both appointees will serve as directors of Pomare. Jim Romig will continue as chairman.
Isle contractor opens in Alaska
Dick Pacific Construction, a Hawaii builder and contractor for 61 years, has opened an office in Anchorage, Alaska.
Dick Pacific has established joint ventures with local contractors in Anchorage and Fairbanks, according to a company press release. The company also has an office in Guam and operations on the Pacific Rim.
Dick Pacific, a division of Dick Corporation of Pittsburgh, Pa., has about 800 employees.
ARC chooses representation
Employees of ARC in Hawaii, who provide care for people with developmental disabilities, have agreed to be represented by the National Health Care Union, NAGE/-SEIU, in collective bargaining.
In an election conducted Monday by the National Labor Relations Board at three sites on Oahu and one on Kauai, 194 of the 231 eligible non-professional employees voted 106 to 84 to be represented by the union. Thirteen professional employees chose to remain non-unionized.
ARC in Hawaii, formerly the Association of Retarded Citizens, will join the union March 20.
