Despite the pooh-poohing of critics and scientists, Fox will re-broadcast "Conspiracy Theory: Did We Land on the Moon?" at 8 p.m. March 21 due to overwhelming viewer response. Since the original broadcast on Feb. 15, the network has received a record number of e-mails - more than 5,000 - requesting a repeat of the special.
An estimated 20 percent of Americans believe we never went to the moon. This one-hour special explores analyzes government photos and examines film of the landing.
On July 16, 1969, America held its breath as Apollo 11 blasted into space. But did it really land on the moon? Could the government have orchestrated the deception of the century? Skeptics point out inconsistencies such as:
Despite the clarity of deep space, the stars were missing from the black lunar skies in photos.
Film of the landing shows the flag waving, even though there is no air on the moon.
In photos, there was no blast crater beneath the lunar lander where the rocket engine had fired.
Although there is only one light source (the sun), photos taken on the moon show conflicting shadows, as if lit by mechanical lights.
