Rainbows in NCAA: Nothing at all to lose

Unexpectedly, the University of Hawaii men’s basketball team has captured the Western Athletic Conference tournament and found itself invited the "the dance," the NCAA regional tournaments.

This is just the third trip by a UH team to the first round: the Fabulous Five lost to Weber State in 1972, and Syracuse beat UH in 1994.

But if this team loses again to Syracuse and fails to advance, there’s absolutely no shame. It has far exceeded anyone’s expectations.

UH can "go for broke," to use a fabled Hawaii expression coined by heroes.

Geev ’um, ’Bows!
