Concert today

  • Larry Carlton Concert, a music, food-and-wine and fireworks extravaganza, 5:30-9:30 p.m.,Turtle Bay Resort lawn area; admission $20-$25 plus $5 parking (food and beverages extra).

Parade tomorrow

  • Old-fashioned parade presented by the Kailua Chamber of Commerce Fourth of July Celebration, beginning 10 a.m. on Kainalu Street; free.

Fireworks tomorrow

  • Kailua Beach Park 8 p.m.; restricted parking during the event; free.
  • Ala Moana Center viewing of Magic Island fireworks, synchronized to a musical score, from 8:30 p.m.; preceded by entertainment; free.
  • Schofield Barracks' salute to patriotism, from 10 a.m. with daytime and nighttime festivities, including Tino & the Rhythm Klub at 4:30 p.m., the Society of Seven Las Vegas at 6 p.m., fireworks at 8:15-8:45 p.m., at Sills Field; free.

  • Picnic in the Park, with Jake Shimabukuro, Kapena, The Royal Hawaiian Band, interactive exhibits and inflatables, 11:15 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Kapi'olani Park; also, free watermelon, cotton candy, shave ice and popcorn; free admission.

  • "Turtle Independence Day," 8:30 a.m. tomorrow at The Mauna Lani Resort with hot dogs, music and 9:30 a.m. release of green sea turtles brought from Oahu's Sea Life Park and raised in the resort's saltwater ponds.
