• Edwin Lei Kaukali, who wrote the Hawai'i Ways, Hawai'i Days column in last Sunday's Island Life section, lives in San Francisco but spends part of the year on the Big Island; his brother, John Kaukali of Honolulu, wrote a previous Hawai'i Ways, Hawai'i Days column in 1996. Because of an editor's error, the two men's names were confused in an editor's note in an Island Life story posted Sunday.

• A family history open house will take place Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Honolulu West Stake Center, 1723 Beckley St. in Kalihi. The numbers to call for information are 845-9701 and 595-2942. An incorrect phone number was published in Saturday's Faith Calendar.
