How Hawai'i hotels are faring

Statewide hotel occupancy rose to a record 89.8 percent for the week ended Saturday driven by a late summer surge, according to Hospitality Advisors LLC. Maui, Kaua'i and the Big Island, all broke into the 90 percent territory. Kauai'i led the way with 91.4 percent occupancy while Maui posted the highest average daily room rate at $205.99.
