WAI SINN CHAR, a retired Honolulu dentist and founder of the Honolulu Chinese Jaycees, died July 3. He was 101 years old. See story.

Marine Lt. Gen. ALPHA LYONS BOWSER JR. was an American hero. Bowser died Sunday at his home in Kailua. He was 92. See story.
