JAMES ROBERT MAYNARD SR., a former president of the Hawai'i Restaurant Association and a lobbyist in the Hawai'i Legislature, died Feb. 8 in Anchorage, Alaska. He was 80. See story.

Services for IRENE BANJAMIN CABRAL, 84, of Honolulu, who died Dec. 26, 2002, and her brother, BENJAMIN HAALILIO OLEPAU, 86, of Waimanalo, who died Feb. 19, 2003, will be held Saturday. Cabral was born in Honoka'a, Hawai'i and was a retired Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard clerk. She is survived by hanai daughter, Laurene "Mamo" Olepau Sakurai. Olepau was born in Honoka'a, and was a retired city electrician and Honolulu Veterans Administration volunteer service contributor. Survived by daughter, Laurene Sakurai; sons, Leland, Kalani and Lawrence; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Visitation 9 a.m. Saturday at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary; combined service 10 a.m.; burial 3 p.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park. Casual attire.

PETE CARILLO ARADANAS, 92, of Waipahu, died Feb. 21, 2003. Born in Pangasinan, Philippines. Retired carpenter. Survived by wife, Irene; daughter, Daisy Lim; four grandchildren.
