Experience the importance of being Ernest with this gorgeous 4-year-old from the Cat House, Room 3. His fluffy fur is black and white and his eyes are golden. He's not the "Cat in the Hat," but he would like to be the cat in your lap.

Ben is a big, strong golden retriever mix who is a bit overweight. He is 3 and the perfect student for a training class. An active family, older kids and other pets would make a great new home for Ben.
The Hawaiian Humane Society and McInerny Dog Park at 2700 Wai'alae Ave. are open noon to 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekends. The incoming-animals area always is open.
