• In a study of airport noise levels in the Keaukaha subdivision of Hilo, Hawai'i, the state Department of Transportation cited what is known as Day-Night Average Sound Level (DNL), a 24-hour average of noise. DNL of 55 or less is typical of quiet rural areas; DNL of 55 to 65 is typical of urban areas with medium to heavy traffic. The Transportation Department is considering noise mitigation to assist about 200 Keaukaha homesteaders with noise levels of 60 DNL or higher. A graphic that accompanied a Local News story posted yesterday about this issue incorrectly described what was being measured and used wrong numbers.

• The American Marketing Association will give its annual Marketer of the Year award at a luncheon ceremony tomorrow at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. The location was incorrect in a listing in the Coming Events column posted Monday.

• Jazz musician Gabe Baltazar's name was misspelled in the Left Lane column posted yesterday.

• A University of Hawai'i survey on traffic attitudes was scientifically conducted using randomly selected students, faculty and staff who were contacted by e-mail. A Local News story posted Monday contained other information.
