Jessica Ghazali pitched a five-hitter as University High upset Iolani, 4-3, yesterday in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu game at Ala Wai field.
The Junior Rainbows (6-7) remained in contention for the league's Division II state berth. The Raiders (8-3-1) still have a shot at the league's second Division I state berth.
Yesterday's scheduled doubleheader at Kamehameha Maryknoll vs. Kamehameha, and Punahou vs. Hawai'i Baptist/St. Andrew's/St. Francis was rained out.
Tiff Rodrigues had two hits and Tara Yanagihara had two RBIs for Iolani, which led 3-0 after the top of the third.
University High scored two runs in the third and two in the fourth the tying run on Reseene Choy's RBI single, the tie-breaking run on an error by the shortstop to take the lead for good.
The Raiders threatened in the sixth, putting their first two runners aboard. But catcher Iwalani Yamaguchi picked a runner off first base, and Ghazali got the next two batters on a popout and a groundout.

Waiakea 4, Kea'au 3: Elise DuPont pitched a five-hitter and Waiakea scored a run in the bottom of the eighth inning to win the Big Island Interscholastic Federation Tournament.
Both teams will play in the state tournament.
