Kim, Corpuz win junior golf titles

Kimberly Kim of Pahoa, Hawai'i, shot a 2-under-par 60 yesterday to win the 11- to 12-year-old girls title at the Callaway Golf Junior World Golf Championships in San Diego.
Allisen Corpuz of Waipahu won the 6-and-under division, and Pearl City's Mari Chun leads the 15-to-17 division with one more round to go.
Kim, 12, finished at 2-under 184, three strokes ahead of Danielle Frasier of Encinitas, Calif. Fifty-eight golfers were entered in the division, played at Welk Resort San Diego Fountains Executive Course.
Corpuz shot a final-round 12-over 66 and finished at 41-over 203 for a seven-stroke victory in the five-player division played at Presidio Hills Golf Course.
Chun, 16, has a one-stroke lead after a 5-under 69. She is at 11-under 211. Juliana Murcia of Colombia shot a 71 and is at 212. The final round is today at Torrey Pines' North Course. A total of 133 are playing in that division.
No Hawai'i boys won in finals completed yesterday.
Lihu'e, Kaua'i's Allan Baab was 11th after shooting a 1-over 73 in the 15-to-17 boys division. Baab is at 5-over 221, 14 strokes behind leader Jason Day of Australia.
